What is a class with Teacher Pat like?
Teacher Pat's classes provide a unique learning experience. My classes are designed to be productive, interactive and personalized. Our main objective is to complete language exercises while engaging in creative conversations.

WIth various aspects of business as our theme, we'll practice pronunciation, speaking, reading, listening and vocabulary through various exercises and explore the nuances of language. Rather than testing you, my role is to be your English training partner, offering guidance and support like a fitness trainer for athletes. Students will receive customized exercises to suit their language goals.

Together, we'll work hard and also discover new and exciting ways to challenge and enhance your English. My interactive platform makes it easy to complete homework and keep track of your progress. Expect a calm, caring, and professional atmosphere in our classes.

What do I need to prepare/download for class?

After booking a class, students will be sent a Virtual Classroom URL Link. Simply click the link when it's time to start class. No sign up or downloads necessary. Lesson materials will be provided in the classroom and can be viewed prior to class. Students should join class in a comfortable and quiet area with a stable internet connection. Using a laptop/PC, headset, mouse, and webcam is highly recommended.

To get started with my classes, you'll need the following:
Technical Requirements:
A stable internet connection.
A laptop or PC (no smartphones please).
Headset with a built-in microphone for clear audio. (recommended)
Mouse for easier navigation and interaction. (required)
Webcam for video interactions (recommended).

What is Bellbird Video Calling?

Bellbird is the simplest way to have a face-to-face conversation online. It is built to help you collaborate and offers features such as text-chat, dual navigation, screen-sharing, and file-uploading. It is browser-based and works on Mac, PC, and mobile - both IOS and Android. We use Bellbird because it is reliable, user-friendly and compatible with my curriculum.

How can I make payments?

You can pay for all the classes you have completed in a month at the end of that month. I accept payments through Paypal, Payoneer, or Prompt Pay. An invoice will be emailed to you, and I kindly ask that you make your payment on time.

Are there any discounts or promotions available for long-term bookings?

What is a the first class like?

You will experience a warm and welcoming first class! We'll begin by introducing ourselves and providing a helpful tutorial to guide you through my service. During this session, we'll have a friendly conversation to understand your language goals, assess your current skills, and identify your weaknesses and preferred class topics. By getting to know you better, we can customize the lessons to match your specific learning style. My goal is to ensure your language learning journey is enjoyable and tailored just for you, starting from day one!

How do I cancel/reschedule a my lesson?

To cancel or reschedule a lesson, please email or message Teacher Pat at least 24 hours in advance. Currently, there is no penalty for cancellations made within the 24-hour window.
If Teacher Pat needs to cancel a lesson, you will not be charged for it.

What is the curriculum?

ESL Pals' comprehensive business curriculum was created to improve your English language skills for the professional world. This curriculum covers B1, B2, C1, and C2 levels, accommodating learners of various skill levels. Each lesson is designed to encourage active participation, critical thinking, and creativity. Engage with YouTube videos, articles, and interactive activities that cover a wide range of business topics. Whether you want to enhance your communication skills, expand your business vocabulary, or develop your presentation abilities, this business curriculum is customized to meet your specific learning needs.

Are there any additional study materials provided?

Yes. Teacher Pat uses a variety of additional materials based on the individual student's needs.

What skill level do I need to start classes?

Students of all ages and skill levels are welcome to join. For Business English, a minimum skill level of B1 is required. Beginners at an A1 level can use the General English curriculum. During your first class, Teacher Pat will assess your level and customize the lessons accordingly to help you achieve your language goals.

Is there a trial class available?
Students can book a free 25-minute lesson to try it out and see if they like it.

How long is each class?
Business English classes are 50 minutes long but is usually extended to 55 minutes. General English & Grammar Class can be booked for 25 minutes or 50 minutes.

How many students are in a class?

Currently, Teacher Pat is only offering one-on-one lessons.
